The 2010 Oscars

Florabundance and Charisma Designs teamed together to present this years 82ND Academy Awards Show. Featuring a theme of softness with strength, the floral stylings reflected the theme from the minute the stars stepped out of their limousines all the way down the famous Red Carpet where they entered the Kodak Theater for the Awards Ceremony.
Yellow, white and red flowers were the colors for this years presentation. Given that the colors were bold to begin with, the flowers were designed with strength and elegance but not in such a manner to overwhelm the space or the people. Using a hedgerow style, bands or rows of color and textures were designed by the staff of Charisma Designs. Yellow roses, white roses and accents of red carnations were used to wrap the giant 14′ Oscar statue and 12′ sections of signs that met the guests as they entered the Red Carpet. After walking a short distance, the guests entered a security tent that was also flanked with hedges of red Roses, yellow Roses, white Snapdragons and yellow Oncidium Orchids.
After clearing security, it is now on to greet the press and fans that line both sides of the Red Carpet. The ‘A’ list stars immediately step out to be photographed as seen in many of the weekly publications and daily newspapers. USA Today featured the gowns of many of the famous stars the next day and in the background you can see a garland of yellow and white roses that lined the red carpet and made a great splash of color for the photos. Flowers are present all the way down the Red Carpet but with a quiet elegance.
While no flowers are ever on stage for the awards due to the many set changes, they are once again enjoyed backstage while the winners are being interviewed in 3 main press areas. Hedges of yellow Lilies, yellow Gerbera, yellow Roses, red Roses, yellow Oncidium Orchids, and white Dendrobium Orchids flanked the 8′ tall Oscar statues on the interview stages.
Flowers, no matter what variety, color, and quantity have the power to change any environment and make it special. Just think, they helped change a busy Hollywood Ave.into a garden pathway and a shopping complex into one of the most beautiful wonderlands to be seen all over the world!
