PROM 2K10

Spring brings lots of activity to retail flower shops. Spring holidays, weddings, and of course, it is prom season. With high school starting to wind down, this event is one of the biggest events in many girls life to date.
With so much attention given to the hair, dress, nails and jewelry , making the floral accessories as important only seems to be a natural. With so many choices of flowers and foliages, it seems rather unfair to offer only a few tired and worn choices.
While roses are still one of the most requested choices, try offering spray roses in combination with other flowers to give more of a 2K10 look.
Mini Cymbidium orchids, Freesia,Mini Callas, Agapanthus blooms, and Stephanotis are some excellent choices to accompany the traditional choices of Roses and Baby’s Breath. Remember, when using smaller delicate blooms, try gluing these in with a liquid floral adhesive instead of wiring and taping for a secure and more delicate corsage. Pan glue does not adhere well to the flowers and will release after being placed in the cooler due to temperature change and water loss.
Offering selected choices of flowers and accessories is a great way to ensure those future clients as well. Many shops are now even stepping up to the technology world and sending the girl a photo of their completed floral accessory via Facebook which not only alerts her to the fact that her order is ready, but it also puts lots of attention to your shop and the quality of creative work that you are producing for others to see and appreciate. Great way to advertise your work!
While there are many young adults on a budget, this is an extra special day for them and many are willing and want to make this night special. Help them do so by offering the newest and most up to date selections of unique and creative floral fashions.
