TRENDING NOW: WEDDING COLOR HARMONIES

Over the past few weeks we have been taking a focused look at weddings as part of many event and retail companies. Feel free to revisit any of those articles you might have missed to get caught up. This week we are reviewing some of the fashion forward color harmonies that are strong around the country. When considering color harmonies, do keep in mind that they are affected by both seasonal influences and geographic influences. Summer colors may hang on a bit longer in the warmer climates than switching to heavier autumn color pallets.
Pinks, lavenders and blues seem to be omni-present this season for colors. Green is still a player, but not as strong both in domination and also in intensity. Black and browns are returning in a strong, rich way. And yes, we are seeing the return of peach and the cosmetic colors that go along with it. One of the biggest changes is that we are seeing a return to gold and the influence of copper while silvers are completely out of the forecast.
So here are some of the dominate color harmonies that your customers will be experiencing this summer and into the fall for their wedding plans.
NEW NATURAL: This look is characterized with the look of structure, strong lines, dark metals and wood combinations and chocolate brown. The browns and black colors are highlighted with mossy greens, old rose and a hint of burnt copper. It has a very European influence of control.
DARING: Think exotic and playful. Think young and fun. Think daring and not afraid to express her individuality. This collection is not for the bashful bride of tradition. She is shopping at outdoor bazaars, flea markets and Anthropology. Blending, layering and very Bohemian. Easiest description – Exotic and Sexy! Strong blues, shocking pinks, oranges kicked with purple and tones of yellow.
MYSTIC: Tradition meets youthful. Here we will see the influence of amethyst and lavenders for a very calming effect. Add neutral grays, mocha, and puce for a very calming presentation, but, we’ll still see a n accent of shocking fuchsia and rich violet. It is a modern interpretation and inspiration of jewel tones only very soft. It is traditional but youthful with controlled extravagance.
ISLAND ZEN: Look at a vase of beach glass and you will find the colors for Island Zen. The blues, Blue-greens, and Greens are the main focus of this collection. Handmade crochet work, artisan influences from Bermuda and Trinidad will show up here. Handmade scarves tied on bouquet handles instead of ribbons, pounded metal, and lots of colored glass. This color harmony has a sun-bleached; washed out intensity. For a kick of color, accent with pinky peach, soft butter yellow and pale apple greens.
SANGUINE: Start with Confidence, add a dash of Attitude, and top off with Bold and you have the concept. Pinks, peach and reds kicked up with GOLD! Opulence, rich depth, and City Vogue all rolled into one. This is the girl that knows what she wants and will stop at nothing to get it. Tradition move aside!
NIGHT LIFE: Total drama is what we are going to see here. Evening elegance, dark and expensive describe this collection. Very Metropolitan. No fluff or fru-fru here. Top ulta chic hotels, very clean lines and expensive! Jade, midnight blue, cobalt, purple, all fit in this harmony. Beware, there just may be a vampire sighting at this event!
These are but a few of our season of events. Visit your bridal salons and tuxedo shops in your market area to see what they are selling as well for additional guidance and suggestions.
The greatest thing about flowers is there are so many choices, you will find just the right collection of florals to make the event one to remember!
