JUNE BLOOMS!

June is the traditional month for many weddings. While October is creeping up in popularity in many areas, most brides think of June weddings. With the challenges in the economy, many brides have had to do some recalculating and reconfiguring to make their wedding as economical as possible. This does not mean however that the flowers have to take a major reduction if the bride is educated about what possibilities and services the florist has to offer. Convincing the bride that flowers play a major role in defining the success of the event can sometimes be a challenge. It is important to keep the overall presentation on an even level of presentation versus having an extreme presentation in one area while other areas appear to suffer the lack of consideration. Keeping abreast of current trends and design styles helps ensue the bride that all your suggestions and guidance is truly in her best interest. Many brides are unsure of who and where to turn so it is important to become the local resource in your area. Since brides have been convinced that DIY ( Doing It Yourself) is the best way to go for wedding flowers, try staging an in-store events where you give away a little of your wedding expertise. For example, for those brides who thing making all the wedding flowers is an easy way to save some dollars, have them make a boutonniere. Most brides will find out just how difficult it is and decide they would rather engage your service than to attempt the more complicated executions. For those brides who are still insistent on doing the flowers themselves be sure to design a package that they can place their order through you for the necessary flowers. This still allows you to capture part of the sale for the event.
Do inform them of the daunting logistics of wedding flowers. Seldom do brides think about cold storage, packaging and transportation of their finished designs. Explain the importance of proper care and handling, set up time, after event clean up and proper installation at ceremony sites. Wedding day is not the time to be learning how to style hair, bake a wedding cake or style flowers! Ask the bride if she wants to be wearing white gloves or work gloves the day of her wedding? Wedding day is not the day to be adding additional stress.
Explain to the brides that there are many ways to reduce costs for the event, but keep in mind that looking back at pictures years from now, will she remember what she spent that saved money on when she is disappointed in what she is looking at. Will she remember it as “The day I always dreamed of”, or “The nightmare I always wanted to avoid”. Help her make the best choices affordable with your expertise and Account Manager from Florabundance.
