Rose Garden, Bessie-SA

Bessie’s color transitions beautifully starting as an ivory bud opening quickly into a classic deep cup to reveal shades of apricot at her center. As her petals relax Bessie’s shape becomes more rosette-like, her color paling to buttery cream, developing hints of caramel whilst always maintaining a halo of ivory outer petals. Bessie delights quickly, opening within two days, from ivory bud to reveal warm tones of apricot petals. Bessie’s color transition is captivating. From apricot, her center quickly changes to soft peach through to buttery-cream, caramel, paling to ivory. The Bessie David Austin® garden rose is sold in 12 stem bunches.

Once the roses arrive:

  1. Unpack your roses as soon as possible.
  2. Keep the packaging in place, to support the stems during hydration.
  3. Cut about 1″ from the base of each stem.
  4. Place the stems in water with flower food to aid hydration, improve opening and increase vase life.
  5. Rehydrate stems for 4-6 hours in the coolest place possible.
  6. After hydration, remove all packaging. Space the stems in the buckets of water to make room for the blooms to open. Retain guard petals as they will disappear as the bloom opens.
  7. Place the stems in an ambient room temperature to encourage opening.
  8. Opening will take about 2-3 days. Once opened, place back in a cool area until you are ready to work with them.
